Cheques account for less than 1% of all payments, and that number is set to decline even further. Our partner who handles cheques is therefore phasing out cheques in 2024. While we have investigated other options, we have not been able to find a viable alternative to maintain our chequing service. This unfortunately means that our chequing service will close.
We have stopped issuing BankWAW cheques on 31 January 2024. The next step is that we will no longer accept depositing of cheques from other banks as of 15 November 2024.
We recognise the end of chequing services will change the way some customers have banked with us for many years.
